Named after Watson Fothergill - Architect
A leading architect practicing in the East Midlands in the late nineteenth century – and widely revered as Nottingham city centre’s greatest architectural influence. Fothergill designed over a hundred buildings including houses, banks, churches, shops and warehouses - many of which still survive today. He worked in the Gothic revival and Old English vernacular styles, which were very popular in the Victorian times.
