Named after Mary Potter – Founder of Little Company of Mary Sisters
Mary Potter founded an order of nuns from her work among the poor of Nottingham, known as Little Company of Mary Sisters. She worked largely in an educative and developmental way teaching the basics of hygiene and child care to women in the city of Nottingham at the time. After this she travelled worldwide to spread her message and her name lives on in the Catholic Church worldwide.
